Financial Aid

If you feel you need help financing your education, you can apply for financial aid by filling out a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) online. The FAFSA is an application that collects the basic information needed to determine your eligibility for all of the financial aid programs sponsored by the federal government. These include Pell Grants, Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (SEOG), Federal Work-Study Program, Perkins Loans, and Federal Direct Student Loans.

There are many options to choose from when considering both government-funded and private sources of financial assistance. The basic kinds of financial assistance are:

Lincoln College Opportunity Grant

The Lincoln College Opportunity Grant offers students the chance to increase their financial aid award by completing the admission’s process earlier in the year. The Opportunity Grant ranges from $500-$3,000. To receive the full eligible amount you must meet the following deadlines:

1.  Apply for admission.

2. File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by March 15, 2013.

3. Freshman: Submit LCN enrollment deposit by May 1, 2013. Transfers: Submit LCN enrollment deposit by June 15, 2013.

Completing the FAFSA

You can complete out the FAFSA online. Students wishing to enroll for the upcoming academic year that begins in the fall can fill out the form any time after January 1 and no later than March 10. The code for the Lincoln College is 001709.

In a few weeks time, the Federal Processor will send you a Student Aid Report (SAR). The SAR will list all of the answers you put on the FAFSA, and may be used to make corrections or to update information that was previously estimated by you. Be sure to check that Lincoln College is listed on the SAR. If the College is not, contact the financial aid office immediately.

The financial aid office will receive your FAFSA data electronically from the Federal Processor. Upon receiving the information, a financial aid award notice will be sent to you in a matter of days. Any additional instructions will also be sent with the award notice.
